Yellow

Milan is currently awash with yellow.

Forsythia is everywhere you turn. In the streets ...

in the gardens of apartment blocks ...

and along the canal.

The mimosa, symbol of International Women's Day, came into bloom just in time for March 8th.

The local council have filled the flower beds in the streets and squares with yellow pansies.

And the allotment holders have planted daffodils on the canal banks.

On the balcony, I have my primroses.

March is a very yellow month.

the only problem with visiting garden blogs in other countries can make you jealous

Gosh that is a lot of yesllow. The mimosa is absolutely stunning, I have one here in a huge pot but of course it has to be under cover in winter, not quite the same.
A lovely bright colourful post.

Your yellows would look stunning with my garden's blues.

'm not a big yellow person (although I'm trying to add some soft yellows to my garden) but all that yellow looks so cheerful you have to enjoy it!

Looks like spring there with all those beautiful yellows!

Yellow seems to be the signature color of spring. I got so tired of not seeing any color, I cut some of my Forsythia for forcing, & it started opening today. I can't wait 'til I can see all those cheery yellow sights around here!

I was googling around and googled what kind of garden are you and up popped your blog...It was a very good post. So then I stayed to read more;) Love all the yellow and you are so spot on, March is the month of yellows, especially in Tennessee. Now there is the occasional purple crocus but the daffodils are everywhere in shades of yellow. Yellow will again be spot lighted in August when all we have blooming are black eyed Susans.

Powerguides - you obviously didn't read the post before this one :)

Cheryl - yes, I love mimosa. I tried growing it from seed the other year, but it got attacked by mites.

Pam Oddly I planted a yellow and blue container the other day - dahlia and liatris. We shall see how it turns out!

Leslie Not my favourite colour either usually but as Kerri and Mr M's D say, it's great to see the beginning of spring.

Gail Welcome! I hope to see you back soon.
