Skywatch Friday : London Sunset

The day I arrived back in London, we had this stupendous sunset. The photos were taken from my back garden, all within about ten minutes.

If you're in Europe, Skywatch Friday actually starts on Thursday (yes, I know it's confusing, but just think about the time difference between here and the States). I posted just two minutes after the list opened today and there were already forty posts up. Of those, my favourite so far is a beautiful picture of cloud from PostcardsfromWildwood - a UK blog. But you can check them all out on the Skywatch site.

Thank you for your comment on my blog. No, I didn't know about that flower being a symbol of London. WoW! I should make an addition to the post! Have a great weekend!

I do agree that the image with the bird is the most beautiful. A bird flying high among the trees in the sunset gives life to the picture. No matter where we are, we look at the same sky, in London, Milan or KL. What a nice feeling.

You've been welcomed home by a beautiful sunset. Plus that large bird flying through. Nice captures.

Very lovely sequence of skies!
About Mr Linky, it's always difficult to get the first positions: he is so quick! ;-)

Sue those are wonderful pictures .. I miss my red sky sunrises here .. this time of year is not a great one for skies such as yours.
BTW .. over a week ago something crashed into the Ottawa river .. there were a few witnesses .. they saw lights and a loud sound that was like a plane crashing into the river .. nothing by way of aircraft were missing .. no problems reported at any airports with aircrafts .. no one has an explanation .. talk about a UFO experience ? LOL
PS .. I have some odd pictures myself from the past week .. I'm sure they are just birds caught in an odd flight pose but they look "saucer shape" !!

Thank you all for commenting. But I'm afraid the bird fooled you - actually it's a pigeon! The reason it looks like something far grander is that the camera blurred the wingtips as they flapped, giving that pointy look of a bird of prey. Oh well - I did once see a kestrel here ...

So lovely! I enjoy the picture with the bird in the sky. The colors are dazzling! What a nice night you must've had seeing all of the paints in the sky.
